The Maitri Yoga Studio

The Maitri Yoga group has moved to the Guides Hall in Seaforth, Simonstown.

Our new venue and schedule can be found on the site below.

I took these pictures of two children on the banks of the Ganges preparing lamp offerings.  I was so impressed with their earnestness and delight in what they were doing. Each little offering contains a wick with some camphor, flowers and incense and every evening at sundown they are floated down the Ganges as an offering to “Mother Ganga”, the feminine aspect of the creative energy in the Universe. At any given time others are doing the same thing and when you sit on the banks many of these offerings come floating quietly by.

I sometimes feel it would be lovely to take a small amount of time out at sunset each day to create our own offering, in whatever fashion, to celebrate life joyfully and to be thankful for our many blessings.

May our inner light burn brightly always!
