Update on the Sivananda Yoga Conference in CT

March 7, 2011

Ananda Kutir Ashrama lovingly organized and very proudly hosted the second national Sivananda Yoga Conference at the Michael Oak Waldorf School in Cape Town on the 5th and 6th February 2011.

The open to the public event was truly well attended by a diverse yoga and spiritual following of families, students, teachers and like-minded beings interested in participating in a conference that focused on the theme of “One God, many Paths.” Dignitaries and guest speakers were part of an event that started at 7am with an opening prayer, a gentle and beautiful one hour Hatha Yoga session and an inspiring half hour Meditation followed by a generous picnic style breakfast on the garden grounds.

Thereafter the day was filled with speeches, Bhajan / Kirtan and Dance by the following participants:

Sri Swami Shivashankarananda, Sri Adi Shankara Ashrama, Sri Kenny Pillay, Integral Yoga Centre of Pietermaritzburg, Sri Swami Ramkripananda, Sarva Dharma Ashrama Youth, Sri Sarverson, Integral Yoga Centre of Newcastle, Sri Yogeshwari Mataji, Ananda Kutir Ashrama, Rosemary, Vijay, Swami Vidyananda and Congregation.

Each individual and group provided inspiring and enlightening messages on integral Yoga and religion, and the singing and dancing highly entertaining and beautiful to witness. A lovely lunch ended the conference on a day that was further blessed with glorious summer weather.

The coming together and sharing of this memorable occasion was a wonderful success that proved to continue the positive outcome of the fist conference held in Johannesburg in September 2010.

It was honestly a privilege to participate in this event and to be amongst such special spiritual and loving beings that is the yoga family dedicated to this path. Thank you to Ananda Kutir Ashrama and to each and very single devoted soul that made this occasion, not only possible, but so very special.
