May 1, 2011
YOGA RETREAT IN A VILLAGE IN SRI LANKA
10 – 25 July – choose a week or twowith Kerry Weavind offering IndiYogawww. ulpotha.com

Yoga classes will be offered in the morning and afternoon – no experience necessary. The time in between is all yours: Relax in a swing bed, have a massage or an ayurvedic treatment, swim in the lake, take a jungle walk up to the temple, bird-watch, explore the surrounding villages on a bicycle, order outfits from the local tailor and eat 3 veggie sri-lankan meals a day.

Ulpotha has been a pilgrimage site for thousands of years and remains an oasis of tranquility in the heart of Sri Lanka. It is a beautiful private hide-away open to guests for part of the year; a place of total peace, where you can experience the warm, generous and gentle hospitality which Sri Lankans love to offer. Ulpotha is largely run by the villagers themselves.

All revenues from guests holidaying in Ulpotha are spent supporting the local community, as Ulpotha is not run on a profit-generating basis. In addition, Ulpotha operates and supplies a free, year round Ayurvedic clinic treating over 100 local villagers a week.

WHERE: Galgiriyawa in Sri Lankas cultural triangle. There is no electricity or plug points, the accommodation is traditional wattle and daub huts. The loos are modern and clean and the showers are open air!

We look forward to seeing you in Ulpotha. We love it, and hope you will too
