Tribute to a Fellow Yogi, Paul Underwood.

It is with sadness and respect that I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Yoga teacher, Paul Underwood, who passed away this month.

I did not know him personally but knew of him. How ever more fitting the word “Yoga” – “To Unite,” “To Yoke Together” – plays in life and in the Yoga community. As a fellow teacher and yogini some of us are united together to share, to experience and to live Yoga. Not just in the asanas / poses but in surrendering to how the gift of Yoga enriches our lives.

Indeed, I have no doubt that those who trained with him, who practiced with him, who were taught by him and who shared the passion of Yoga with Paul, will remember him with admiration and true fondness. I, for one, part of those who did not meet him in person but who crossed his path in Yoga living and conversation, acknowledge his passing with a heavy heart.

Jim Harrington had these special words to share. “He was a dedicated yoga practitioner and he was someone who met life with a very open heart. We will miss him.”

On behalf of those who had the privilege to know him and us, fellow yogis, I want to extend my prayers and thoughts of love, support, healing and much strength to his family and loved ones.

Peace be with you, Paul.

Om Shanti.
Juanita.

With deepest gratitude to Jim and Michael.
