Maha Mudra – Great Seal.

September 17, 2012

Maha Mudra is practised once you are able to perform all the previous mudras and bandhas well. It is a combination of all the others.

Sit with the right leg stretched out at a right angle to the body. The left leg is bent inwards with the heel pressing against the perineum. Inhale and hold the breath in the abdomen whilst simultaneously practising Jalandhara, Mula Bandha and Uddiyana Bandhas. Hold the breath as long as is comfortable. Then slowly breathe out and release the bandhas. Take a normal breath and repeat another two times. Then swap the legs and repeat three times.

All the benefits of the mudras and bandhas are had.

May you all have wonderful success in your practice of bandhas and experience the Self.
